Best Slogan Ever

I wish I knew what company this guy worked for. Last week this maintenance truck was stopped in front of me at a red light and I had to get a picture of it. With that slogan on the front, he could sell t-shirts all day long.

Not Giving Up

Today was a much better running day. I did my 2.5 mile course and felt good about it. The big changewas my pace. I did it in 23:30. That's just over a 9 minute mile and around 6 miles an hour. It should be a respectable marathon pace if I can just build up the miles...

Marathon Practice

I think I've shared this before but this here is my 2.5 mile course around the subdivision. This course has killed me twice so far and after doing the math I think the reason is obvious. As usual, I'm running too hard. My time today was 21:02 for 2.5 miles. Thats an 8.4 minute mile and about 7 miles an hour. There is no way I could or should be able to do that pace this early in the game. I have also came up with a different 5 mile run.

This running thing sucks. As soon as I am able to check off running a marathon, these running shoes are going in the trash.

Mobile Editor Please

Google really needs to give blogger a mobile editor. Maybe blogging on the go is more of a twitter thing?

I say this a couple of times a year but I really should update this page more often. There are a ton of things going on and that always provides introspective comments to share. Maybe I will work on a few posts this weekend.

This could possibly be the Dilbert I connected with and laughed at the most, ever!

Grooming Day

This has to be one of the most funny before and after albums ever. I hope the dogs will someday forgive us for such horrible haircuts.

Yesterday's Fortune

3 Things

Today's 3 things were hard to come up with. I did a lot of spacing which isn't very conducive to learning.

1. Running the night before 5am spinning makes things hard.
2. My spin instructor's brother-in-law died
3. Suzette's son is very Asian.

3 Things

I read this in a series of books and have wanted to start it ever since. A little girl took apprenticeship with a school of assassins and this was one of her daily tasks. She had to report 3 things she learned that day to her teacher. No matter how small, all information is power....I think this was part of the lesson. Maybe I'll listen to the books again....

1. Don't trust anyone you work with.
2. Hummus can be green.
3. If you drop your iPod while running on the treadmill, let it go (learned the hard way).

Still Running

So far the Nike+ thing sucks.  I haven't given up on it but nothing is working right.  It's been more frustrating than actually running.  Wednesday night I took it to the gym and ran with it on the treadmill again.  The treadmill said I did 4.25 miles and the Nike+ still had 1km to go on my 5km run I had set it for?!?!  I wanted to throw it across the gym.  Maybe tomorrow I will try to calibrate it to see if that helps.

Yesterday I worked out sans the Nike+ and did 5 miles in 44 minutes and 33 seconds on the treadmill.  Thats within the starting goal and I think I can keep that up on the treadmill.  The pavement is another story.  I am still scared of the street after my last couple of outings.  My knees were killing and I felt twice as beat as working out in the gym.  The heat probably plays a big part in that but the cement is a huge part too.  Maybe losing a bit more weight would help.  If I can keep up the 5 mile runs a few times a week, that will certianly happen.
